Frequently Asked Questions

Which trekking package is right for me?

If you want a shorter jungle experience, choose a half day or 1 day trek. If you want more time in the rainforest and a deeper trekking experience, the 2 day or longer packages are a better choice.

How long are the trekking packages?

Our trekking options range from a few hours to several days. You can choose a short trek, 1 day trek, or longer 2 to 5 day adventure depending on your time and preferred experience.

How difficult is orangutan trekking in Bukit Lawang?

The difficulty depends on the package. Shorter treks are generally easier, while longer treks involve more walking, uneven jungle trails, hills, and overnight stays in the rainforest.

What is included in the trekking package?

Inclusions vary by package. Each package page clearly explains what is included, such as guiding, meals, permits, equipment, and overnight arrangements when applicable.

How much does orangutan trekking in Sumatra cost?

Prices depend on the trek duration and package you choose. You can check each package page for the latest price and full details before booking.

Will I definitely see orangutans during the trek?

No. Orangutans are wild animals, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. Our guides will take you through areas where orangutans are commonly seen while respecting the animals and their natural habitat.

Is the orangutan trekking experience ethical?

Our trekking approach focuses on responsible wildlife observation. Guests should keep a safe distance, avoid touching or feeding orangutans, and follow the guide’s instructions throughout the trek.

What should I bring for jungle trekking?

Bring comfortable trekking shoes, light clothing, insect repellent, sunscreen, drinking water, and rain protection. For longer treks, additional personal items may be needed depending on the package.
